Whats on your wordesk? Wednesday 266

I have been missing in action for a while now.
In fact, I have not done any craft for two whole months - except for emergency birthday cards. Mostly aided by travels to Singapore and then to New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. I then missed a Stampin Up catalogue release party last Friday night which made me feel even more sad that I had not done any scrapping.

So last night I decided to clear off my craft desk and have a gentle sort of everything that was placed on it with a little bit of a chuck out too.

Finally feel like I could get something made sometime soon - also inspired me to change up my storage and get a new desk. Hopefully this weekend.

T is for Tuesday - Greetings from Singapore

We spent the past weekend exploring Singapore, going to places we haven't really seen before (or haven't had to time for a proper look)

The first place we went to after getting into the city from the airport was Haw Par Villa

It's kind of like a themed park of sorts.
Haw Par Villa (Chinese: 虎豹別墅; pinyin: Hǔ Bào Biéshù) is a theme park located along Pasir Panjang Road, Singapore. The park contains over 1,000 statues and 150 giant dioramas depicting scenes from Chinese mythology, folklore, legends, history, and illustrations of various aspects of Confucianism. (From Wikipedia)

It was extremely weird in some parts but very interesting & beautiful in others.
My favourite was the huge pagoda and surrounding lake which was full of turtles including cute baby turtles.
After spending an hour or so there, we headed into Clarke Quay which is a lovely part of the city and also where our hotel was located.
Having had lunch, we then boarded a river cruise and spent the next hour have a lovely and relaxing tour of the river and marina bay - which is now a reservoir for fresh drinking water...
As it was very hot and humid, I felt like I was continually drinking water, so much that by the time we walked back to our hotel I couldn't wait to try something a little different. (The photos of my Singapore Sling will follow when I can upload them)
This was our five time to Singapore and find every time we go that we never have enough time to do everything that we would like to.

I've been missing in action for the last two Wednesdays, mainly due to just being busy with everything at the moment.

I had the whole of last week off from work and found myself still running out of time to get things done. I did a huge garage/shed clear out as well as a few other rooms and finally managed to some of our office. I managed a craft day with a friend that I haven't seen for ages.

My desk this week is the front seat of our car taken on Sunday. I was early to pick hubby up from work so I decided to crop and round off some pictures while I waited

I am sure I got a few funny looks from passer-by's.
I am currently completing a scrapbook for a trip we made to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (2010)

Pretty boring really ;-)

So I spent Friday night having a huge sort out of everything that was piling up on my main work desk. I no longer have piles of stuff on the floor either which is great and I even vacuumed.

I finally managed to organise all my project life cards - not that I really do project life in the intended way, I sorted them into kits in their sizes (3x4 and 6x4), I might change that to being by colour but am not sure yet. They make great card bases for greeting cards too.

Funny how when cleaning stuff out it makes everywhere look so much worse!

Sunday morning I spent clearing off the second desk and making up kits for the albums I want to do (also managed to do 4 loads of washing and clean the house).

Whilst cleaning up/sorting out I found this monkey photo from our trip to Bali and decided to make a layout instead of just putting the photo away.

T is for Tuesday

Nothing really exciting for me this week - general tidy up Sunday morning with a banana and yoghurt smoothie for breakfast with a bottle of water.

As part of the tidy up, I made up a few album kits up so I can grab whatever I feel like working on. Each kit holds my paper/cards, photos, ephemera and embellishments, a couple are little short on room so the photos are placed in a container on top of the kit.

I am currently in the middle of using one to finish my Hong Kong album which has worked well. All I need to grab on a Wednesday night before I head out the door to my friend's house for our craft night, is the plastic box and album.

What's on your Workdesk Wednesday

This week is much tidier - a little bit like the calm before the storm..

Really loving my desk light which I picked up for $3 at a garage sale recently.
My secondary desk now has a shelving unit for extra easy to grab storage - still sorting out this out as to what will go where but already it is much better even with the slight mess on it.

Keeping it short & sweet this week - here a few of my makes from this week - mostly made on Saturday during a lovely wet rainy day, I was really unwell and was fortunately kept sane by hanging out in my crafting space making mostly cards with a little bit of sorting out & a little bit of scrapping.

Also I finally made the cover page of my Hong Kong travel album with a little bit of stamping & colouring along with the beautiful lanterns - I think it is perfect.

I have no excuse for it - it's a right pig sty this week.

It's what happens when I was going through some new goodies, looking at a Stampin-Up catalogue and also trying to make a birthday card and finish some scrapping.

T is for Tuesday

At work today enjoying my new Google It cup - it has porridge on it today as I was a bit late getting to work due being stuck on a faulty train in the middle of the freeway.
Not my usual cup of tea that's for sure!

But now onto fun stuff - check out my new baby

She arrived in the mail on Friday & I have only had a little bit of a play so far.
So much fun already!

I have bought some more design discs which hopefully will come this week.

WOYWW - Wednesday 250

I'm a bit behind this week running around after work doing chores & yesterday I visited my sister in hospital so I got home very late as it's an hour from home.

So this week I am bringing pictures of another work desk. This was from the last time we did some beading together at her house.

At the time she had just collected 2 kittens for my dad.
I was 'trying' to bead & this little missy just loved chasing my tiger tail wire.
This little guy was quite happy to sit (&sleep) on my shoulder.

A small sample of what I made (with the 'help' of the kittens)

Starting out with Project Life style scrapping

Started using Project Life supplies to scrapbook with.

Tuesday, 11 March 2014

I have been incredibly exhausted from being ill and feel like I am finally reaching a point of feeling okay - which I am more than happy with.
I made this for my dear husband who turned 35 on the weekend (photo was taken on the weekend - so organised!) I used mainly scraps from the bottom of 12x12 pages where the barcode is and the main blue bit is from a Project Life card that bought it when it got stuck to a photo it wasn't meant to.
Quite happy with the result - desk only slightly messy this week!
Saturday's desk:
 Wednesday's desk(s):
It's great having two desks side by side now. The eventual plan is to have one fro scrapping & one for everything else but so far it's working well being at the brown one and using the white one to leave things on. Still have a lot of sorting going on too which I am enjoying.

T is for Tuesday

Strictly a Mocha fan with a support act of English Breakfast Tea when the moment arises - scones with jam and tea being one of them.
After two weeks of lurgy & feeling dreadful, I am finally on the mend.
Not a lot has been happening in the creating department just more of the tipping out and sorting containers. Amazing what I have rediscovered though.

Well I have been terribly ill for the past week and it's not getting much better, only I can get flu in summer - ha! It's pretty bad when  I didn't even feel like doing any craft but as I had to make a group birthday card for a lady at work, I soldiered on.
The desk is surprisingly tidy really, although the photo doesn't show the mess just off to the side where I tipped out all of my collage type stickers.
I  had a free Graphic45 paper pad and chipboard embellishments that came with a magazine that I bought on the weekend. I enjoyed making the March card so much that I continued on and made a couple more.

T is for Tuesday

Another Tuesday already!!

March is here in all it's glory which for me is slightly cooler nights & early mornings but still very hot days. This past weekend being a perfect example - boiling hot and then last night we froze - ha!

I am trying really hard to get up earlier so I can maybe make a card or two before I have to head out to work. I already get up early on days when I commute with  hubby (way earlier than I need to but it's fun). Today was one of those days where we leave at 5:30am and head up to Fremantle where he works & I then get the bus to the Fremantle train station and get to enjoy the beautiful train ride into Perth. I enjoy the view over the Swan River mouth & then the Indian Ocean including Rottnest Island. It's especially pretty in the early morning light.

Today is a really special T for Tuesday as my niece Darcy turns 12 today.

Celebrating with the most revolting Angry Birds drinks ever!

WOYWW 247 - Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday

I managed to spend the whole of the weekend in my craft studio room.
Finally finished sorting & rearranging the dreaded robe cupboard aka severe dumping zone.
Spent Saturday afternoon and most of Sunday scrapping holiday photos and making heaps of greeting cards - mostly intended for the markets this coming Saturday.
Bagged them all up ready to go:
Took them into work today to show off to one of my work buddies & she bought 11 of them!
Very nice :-)
The other end my desk is covered in project containers as I am preparing for a big run of scrapping to get some albums finished - not in any hurry though.

T is for Tuesday (& time to take the nephew out again)

Had the most lovely phone call from  my nephew, Jayden who is 12.

We spoke for just over an hour and he spent a lot of the time saying how much he missed me and when can we catch up again. He really wants to come visit me at home - mostly so he can play X-box I am sure!

These pictures are from a recent day trip we took together down to Pinjarra just south of Perth, WA.

Stretching the drink connection for my T is for Tuesday but I am currently drinking the same cool drink that is in this pic so that should count ;-)

My workspace in a different place....
Wednesday night workspace at Niesha's house ... we meet up every week on Wednesday to craft and chat ... sometimes mostly chatting.
Tonight it's cardmaking by me & cute hair clips by Niesha.
